We are proud to have taken part in the WELL Summit in London — an event that brought together designers, companies, financial institutions, and sustainability consultants to reflect collectively on the future of well-being in buildings.
We work every day to create more inclusive and equitable environments, knowing that it is not enough to put people at the centre; we are committed to ensuring that every form of life is valued.
As an Impact Sponsor, we recognize the importance of our role, and we wish to share our vision with other organizations that believe in the power of people.
Paola Moschini and Luisa Tonelli had the opportunity to share their thoughts with the other guests. It is always a pleasure to meet the IWBI team: Giovanna Jagger, Ann Marie Aguilar, Rachel Hodgdon, Mona Duff, Whitney Gray, Matthew Maycock, Shiori Kanazawa, and all the others are an inspiring example of a strong, open, and inclusive team — as well as well-organized.
In her talk, Luisa shared reflections on the relationships that arise when engaging with the WELL Standard. Beyond the role of design in generating positive social and environmental impact, she highlighted something deeper: human relationships, family, and future generations.
During the final part of the day, dedicated to exhibition stands and networking, we also shared a lighter yet meaningful moment: a quiz designed to engage participants in a fun and interactive way. Those who took part could choose either a Macro Design Studio t-shirt as a prize or, alternatively, contribute — through a donation on our behalf for an amount equal to the value of the t-shirt — to the organization Forensic Architecture, which investigates social issues and human rights through spatial and architectural research. The quiz turned our booth into a lively and inclusive meeting point.
The enthusiasm of the participants turned into a tangible contribution that Macro Design Studio will donate to Forensic Architecture to support their human rights research activities:
“From all of us at Forensic Architecture, let me say a huge THANK YOU to Macro Design Studio and everybody at the WELL Summit for showing your support for our work. It’s no secret that these are extremely challenging days to work in human rights, and to continue to support communities and individuals facing dispossession, marginalisation, and state violence. In that context, your support is more vital than ever — this generous contribution will go straight into supporting our community-led investigations and storytelling on urgent human rights issues around the world. Thank you!”— Forensic Architecture
Two different approaches to architecture, united by the same guiding thread: people. Whether designing spaces or investigating places, we are always guided by the desire to highlight and enhance the human impact.
One of the most meaningful aspects for us was reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new people who, like us, believe that well-being and sustainability go hand in hand.
A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who shared this experience with us — and to all those who continue building, together, a healthier and more conscious future.
