From 6 to 8 May, Milan hosted GBCI Europe Circle 2026, dedicated to the theme “Forging Resilience”. It was an intense three days that brought together the European LEED community: professionals, consultants and innovators discussing how green buildings can withstand climate, social and economic challenges.

The second day of conferences put resilience at the centre. Topics ranged from strategies for certified sustainability and climate risk management to decarbonisation and data-driven decisions for smarter, more adaptive buildings. A historic milestone was also celebrated: in 2025, Europe surpassed 1,000 LEED-certified buildings, thanks to the collective work of teams and partners. The format was dynamic, with quizzes and contests for the community, and the cherished Day 2 tradition: unveiling the location of the next edition.

The final day offered tours of cutting-edge construction sites. A highlight was the visit to the new UniMI Campus in the MIND district, organised with Lendlease and Renco. This iconic 210,000 m² project comprises five LEED buildings and will host more than 23,000 students, faculty and researchers. These are high-performance, vibrant and inclusive spaces that weave together the legacy of the University of Milan with a forward-looking vision: nature, sustainable mobility and a resilient community.

GBCI Europe Circle is more than an event; it is a reminder of the human connections 💚 that create real impact.
